Finally Here...and She is All That!
Well, the wait is now over. Finally, the newest edition to the Jacoway family has arrived. Her name is Ariel Renee' Jacoway. She was born on December 18th, 2008 at 10:37pm. She is 6lbs 15ounces with 19 1/4 inches long. She is so bright and alert. Not to mention that she is too cute for words to describe. We are so proud to be her parents. I look forward to sharing so many more moments of pride of our baby girl.

No Baby Yet ...But Soon....Very Soon
Hmm, well it is the 16th and no baby to show for all the muss and fuss around this whole December 15th due date. We are still anxiously waiting her arrival. Sami' was fairly certain that she would be born on the 12th because of the full moon thing. I am not sure how that whole full moon thing works whether it is some sort of cosmic magnetic force that pulls babies from the wombs of mothers or if werewolf's just scare moms into labor but I am told that there is in fact something significant about a full moon and giving birth. Well, it didn't happen for us, so I will just have to take their word for it. I however, was convinced that we had made the womb much too comfortable for her and it might take her a little longer to make her entrance. I seem to be right so far.
While we can't wait it seems that that our friends and family may be more on edge than we. We have been offered so much free advise on how to get her to come, such as:
1. Go for a long walk
2. Run Stairs
3. Exercise
4. Drink Mineral Oil
5. Move Heavy Furniture
6. Take a bumpy car ride
7. Eat hot foods...etc.
Now we have not intentionally tried anyone of these but as we move further from that due date we might have to implore one of these a day until we get her to come out. Then we will definitively know what is the best way to encourage labor.
Should one of those options not work in the next 6 days she will be induced next Monday. According to the doctor, Sami' right now is 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. Really, It could be any day now. But for sure there will be some news by Monday. Stay tuned for the latest.

A Baby is Coming!!!!

As many of you know Sami' and I are expecting our very first little one (girl). To say the least, we are so excited about the new addition to the JaCoway home. Currently, we are 38 weeks into the process and the time is drawing near very quickly. The estimated due date is December 15th, but we are taking bids on other dates in that general time frame (We have to make a little money to pay for her right?) Over the last 8 months we have been bombarding our brains with every piece of information that we could find on parenting and child birth. What we have discovered is that we have no clue how to take care of a baby. I am certain that this child will be raised purely on the grace of God. However, we are going to try really hard to raise her right...to love Jesus and love her neighbors.
I know that many of you are thinking. Sami' and I have have probably been asked this famous question 1,000 times in the last 8 months. "What is her name?" That is a great question. The answer is...we are not telling. It gives us great joy to torture those close to us by withholding such valuable information. Not to mention the market for naming kids is skyrocketing. No, we just think its pretty fun and the mystery keeps people somewhat interested.
So, if you want to be among the first to know the name of the worlds newest JaCoway. Stay tuned for future updates on the JaCoway baby experience through the J-Blog.
